Uni-Core™ (HUC) Tissue Sampling Applications

Tissue sampling may include sampling tissue blocks and histology samples in thin section used in medicine, veterinary medicine, food sciences, or any other discipline where small samples of tissue undergo analysis. The lumen space in the Harris Uni-Core™ insures adequate space to sample tissue block samples.

Place tissue sample on Harris Cutting Mat™ and with free hand hold in intimate contact with the cutting mat. Grip the barrel of the Harris Uni-Core ™ as shown above (or in another manner) and position the cutting edge on the area of interest holding the barrel perpendicular. Apply gentle downward pressure while rotating the barrel of the Harris Uni-Core ™ until you feel contact with the underlying support. Lift the Harris Uni-Core ™ away from the larger tissue sample. The sample is now safely stored in the Harris Uni-Core ™ lumen. The sample may remain in temporary storage or it can be transported and preferentially ejected.
