Material analysis relies on many different instrumental techniques including scanning electron microscopy, pyrolysis gas chromatography, fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, mass spectrometry, and others. These instruments are highly sensitive and include sample stages designed to accommodate minute amounts of sample. Placement of such samples on these stages may be cumbersome and time consuming, often relying on fine tweezers or other manual manipulation for proper positioning.

The Harris Uni-Core™ offers an alternative that is precise by ensuring samples of repeated weight and size are collected, while also contributing to the accurate and rapid positioning of the sample onto the instrument sample holder. This improves analysis throughput and instrument performance.
