Open Access

Open Access publishing marks a dramatic change in the scientific publishing industry where some publishers are offering free, unconditional access, to a wide and diverse range of scientific research via the Internet. There is, however, still a price for Open Access. Page fees still exist for submitting authors and these can range as high as $1500 US or more per page. The Forensic Archive, published by Shunderson Communications Inc., is an open access publication where there are no front end or back end fees charged, respectively, to end users or submitting authors.

The goal of Shunderson Communications, Inc. is to expedite the publishing of forensic research from as many sources as possible, without condition, and to make this content available to the widest audience, in the shortest time frame and in a user friendly retrievable manner. To achieve this we do not require submitted works to undergo multiple refereed peer reviews. Our position is that a two- or three-person peer review of a research submission is not meant, nor designed, to reproduce the research, which is the truest test of scientific validity. We leave this to the submitting authors and our users. We will accept and append peer reviews on any posted content. All works are unconditionally accepted for publication and, although not peer reviewed, undergo an editorial review.

Shunderson Communications, Inc., invites users to download, copy, distribute, transmit works from The Forensic Archive with some limited restrictions outlined under Usage Conditions and Permissions sections.
